From 'Meh' to Amazing - How Toyota Turned Its LATCH Ratings Around

Most vehicles are equipped with LATCH (Lower Anchors and Tethers for Children) hardware, designed to make it easier to install child seats. Instead of securing the seat with safety belts, LATCH provides lower anchors and tethers to help you get the right fit.

Not all LATCH systems are alike, however, and in June 2015, the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety launched a new test category -- LATCH ease-of-use.
