Toyota Motor Corporation may be a Japanese-owned company, but Toyota Motor North America is American as apple pie and bacon-cheeseburgers.

In fact, for the second year in a row (and sixth time overall), the Toyota Camry was found to contain the highest proportion of domestically-manufactured components in the Cars.com 2016 American-Made Index. This remarkable Toyota sedan also single-handedly supports over 6,000 full-time manufacturing jobs in the U.S., which is more than any other model by a wide margin. While it comes as no surprise that the Toyota brand continues to grow to increase domestic production, it is interesting to discover how many jobs are supported by American auto manufacturing!

Many of the new Toyota vehicles for sale at our Joplin showroom were also built, engineered, or designed in America. For example, the Toyota Tundra, Tacoma, and Sienna are all designed at Calty Design Research, Inc.'s Michigan campus, and engineered at the adjacent Toyota Technical Center.

The Toyota brand builds upon its American manufacturing by creating many of its innovative and attractive models in the United States. We know that the Toyota Camry is made in Kentucky, along with many of its vehicle components. The Toyota Corolla is made in Mississippi, the Highlander in Indiana, and the Tundra and Tacoma are also built in Texas, just to name a few!
