When it comes to reliability, there are a few indicators that will bring you back to Toyota, and thanks to this massive study reported by Your Mechanic, the proof is in the data. Based on estimates of total maintenance over 10 years, Toyota costs the least to maintain.1

The study also broke it down to individual models-- which cars cost the most to maintain, and which cost the least. Toyota didn't make the list of highest maintenance cost, but it did have five cars in the top 10 lowest-cost-to-maintain cars. Here's who made the list:

Toyota Prius: Our hybrid icon came in at number 1 on the list. Are you surprised?

Toyota Camry: The coveted, family-friendly midsize is the third lowest-cost-to-maintain car over a 10 year period.

Toyota Tacoma: The only truck on the list is a Toyota of course! The Tacoma came in at number 5.

Toyota Corolla: The best-selling car in the world came in at no. 6 on the list.

Toyota Toyota Yaris: This underrated Toyota, which is offered as a hatch or a sedan, came in at number 8.
